Pakistani Airstrike on Kabul Rehab Center Kills Over 100, UN Condemns

A Pakistani air strike killed at least 100 people, while they were in Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital in Kabul. Although, Talibani authorities claimed that the death toll could surpass more than 400. Despite Pakistan claiming that it was a "precise" strike to target terror installations to stop cross-border militancy, health authorities in Afghanistan claim that there were no such military installations close to the rehab center, which had approximately 2,000 patients. The UN has condemned this strike, which is a major escalation in the month-long conflict between the two nations, and has called for an investigation into this strike along with an immediate ceasefire. Rescuers are currently searching through the rubble of this former US military base, which had been converted into a massive treatment center for drug addicts rounded up from across the capital by the Taliban.
